Trump, for example, did not endorse a leading candidate, California Rep. David Valadao, who was one of ten House Republicans who voted to prosecute him last year. In two of the seven states that voted on Tuesday, Trump did not endorse a candidate: New Jersey and New Mexico. In both of these blue states, he was defeated by double digits in 2020. The following is a list of Trump-backed candidates who won on Tuesday.
California is the winner of the CA 01 Rep. Doug LaMalfa is a member of the House of Representatives. By being in the first position in the general election, he was able to win the election. He voted to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
CA03 Kevin Kiley made it to the general election, where he came in second place.
Kiley, a Republican state assemblyman and outspoken critic of Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, finished sixth in his bid to defeat Newsom in 2021. But Trump was undeterred by the finish. Upon having met Kiley in May at a Trump golf course in California, he expressed his support. Kevin has fought Gavin Newsom more than anyone else. Trump added in his endorsement that he isn’t waiting for a fight like a do-nothing RINO who saw California absolutely decimated by Sacramento’s radical maniacs.

By finishing first in the general election, he was elected.
Over the weekend, Trump endorsed House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, whom he referred to as “my Kevin.” McCarthy openly disparaged Trump after the Jan. 6 attacks, according to audio tapes leaked in April, which irritated Trump and other GOP members for a short time, though the two continue to publicly back each other.McCarthy voted to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
Connie Conway, CA22.By being in the first position in the general election, I was able to win the election.
In the special election runoff to substitute GOP Rep. Devin Nunes, who resigned from his position to manage Trump’s media empire, Trump supported the former state senator. In his declaration of support, the previous president praised Conways’ work as executive director of the California Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency.
Conway will only be in Congress for a year, as the district will be redrawn after the state’s new congressional district design is implemented next year.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa)
Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, speaks during a nomination hearing in February. Won with 74% of the vote. Grassley, 88, has already condemned Trump’s role in the Jan. 6 assaults and urged for their culprits to be prosecuted, but that hasn’t stopped him from claiming the backing of past presidents. So I wouldn’t be very clever if I won’t receive the support of a candidate who has 91 percent of Republican voters in Iowa. Grassley remarked at an event in October last year where he won Trump’s support, “I’m smart enough to accept that support.”

Donald Trump’s specter hangs over the congressional campaign among Trump’s candidates, Kevin Kiley, and Kermit Jones. Trump received only 34% of the vote in California’s 2020 election, but he is in a position to sway many House elections in the state.
The former president endorsed Kiley, a Rocklin state representative, for the newly created Third Congressional District seat, and declared victory not only in his California selections but also in other races across the nation on Wednesday.
“In Friday night’s elections, President Donald Trump went 16-0, including Kevin Kiley’s resounding victory in California’s Third Congressional District. “It appears Kevin has the wind at his back as he steams on towards November, with much of the vote still pending,” Trump spokeswoman Taylor Budowich told The Bee. Trump generally endorsed politicians who were expected to win easily. Kiley, who was supposed to be in a race that was too close to call, was an outlier.
But it’s unclear whether Trump should do more for Kiley, or any of the other candidates he’s supported in the state. According to political experts, Trump’s support has already provided the majority of its value.
“Kiley sought support to get to precisely where he is today, which is to be the Republican candidate in a highly Republican-leaning congressional district in a good year for Republicans,” said Jon Fleischman, former executive director of the California Republican Party. “Its primary goal has been accomplished.
According to Dan Schnur, a longtime political activist and political science professor who served as a key advisor to former Republican Gov. Pete Wilson, Kiley should follow the lead of Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who won with Trump’s support but avoided being too close to Trump’s.
“To remove oneself from Trump as graciously as feasible while still campaigning on many of his issues,” Youngkin’s playbook, according to Schnur, involves “to distance himself from Trump as politely as possible.” The Trump factor takes on a distinct tint in the state’s Republican-held districts, where Trump seems to be endangered.
Rep. David Valadao, R-Hanford, represents a reconfigured district that President Joe Biden won in 2020 by 13 points. Valadao voted to impeach Trump last year and has remained mainly silent on his policies, albeit not condemning him. Trump has not endorsed a Republican candidate in the election.
Valadao is up against Democratic Assemblyman Rudy Salas of Bakersfield, who received 47 percent of the primary vote in the most recent tally, putting him ahead of Valadao and other contenders. Republicans, on the other hand, received 53% of the vote, indicating that the contest will be closed. Reps. Michelle Steel (R-Seal Beach), Young Kim (R-Fullerton), and Mike Garcia (R-Santa Clarita) have likewise avoided Trump in their swing districts and have not received his support.
