Who Is Gabriele Von Arnim Tochter?
Gabriele von Arnim is a journalist and author based in Germany. She was born on November 22, 1946, in the German city of Hamburg. The University of Hamburg and the University of Frankfurt am Main where Gabriele von Arnim Tochter studied sociology and political science. In 1972, she did her Ph.D. from the University of Hamburg, bringing her studies to a close. In the years 1973 to 1983, she worked as a freelance journalist in New York, where she contributed articles to German newspapers, periodicals, and broadcast stations.
Her residence in Munich from 1983 until 1996 followed her return from the United States. In 1992, she launched the so-called “Munich Appeal” against the far-right and xenophobia, which has continued to this day. In 1994, she formed the Memento – Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Association to commemorate the victims of the concentration camp. She has been a resident of Bonn since 1996. At the moment, she is employed by several radios and television businesses, including ARTE, where she is a presenter of the SWR Wortwechsel program and a participant in the Literaturclub program on Swiss television.
In addition to her journalistic work, Gabriele von Arnim has also written and published works of fiction in several genres. She worked as a co-editor of the Human Rights Yearbook from 1999 to 2003, a position she held for a decade. She is a member of the German PEN Center, which is dedicated to literary expression. Her first marriage resulted in the birth of a daughter. Until her death in 2014, her second husband was journalist Martin Schulze, with whom she had been married for 30 years until she died.
