    Annaatthe trailer: Rajinikanth plays a brother in action-drama

    The makers of Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Annaatthe have finally released the much awaited trailer of the film. The action-drama film is written and directed by Siva, known for films like Siruthai, Vedalam and Viswasam. The film is produced by Sun Pictures.

    Annaatthe, a family drama in which Rajinikanth will play the role of a panchayat chief. D Imman has been roped in to work on the music, and has also composed the title song ‘Annathe Annaatthe’. Earlier the posters and other songs of the film have also been released.

    The regional film also has an opening song voiced by Late Sripati Panditaradhula Balasubramaniam popularly known as SPB. Apart from Thalaiva, 70, Annaatthe also stars Prakash Raj, Meena, Khushboo, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Suri and Jagapathi Babu among others.

    Earlier there were a lot of theories about Rajinikanth romancing in this film, second single Sara Katre clarified that it will be Nayanthara who will be seen playing the role of his lady love.

    The trailer features Rajinikanth as Kalaiyan, the panchayat head of a village who is devoted to his fellow villages and his family, especially his sister, played by Keerthy Suresh. When their peaceful existence is threatened by a villain (Jagapati Babu), all hell breaks loose as the Kalaiyas seek revenge.

    The trailer of the film is full of emotions and strong action sequences.

    Recently, Rajinikanth received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in Delhi. He dedicated his award to his mentor K Balachander, as well as his brother Satyanarayan Rao Gaekwad, his bus driver friend, who recognized his acting talent as Rajini’s bus conductor, his fans and people from the industry. Today (27 October) he called on President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. The superstar took to social media to share pictures from the meetings. In the pictures, he and his wife Latha Rajinikanth can be seen posing with the President and the Prime Minister.

    Sharing the photo, Rajinikanth wrote, ‘I am glad that I met the President and the Prime Minister and received their congratulatory messages.

    The action drama is scheduled to hit the theaters on November 4 on the festival of Diwali.
