    Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to receive the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution of over four decades to Indian cinema. The news was announced by Union Minister Prakash Javadekar in April, however, the event was postponed till October 25 due to the pandemic. On Sunday, the actor took to Twitter to confirm the same, though he had an additional piece of information to share.

    Along with sharing the news of receiving the coveted award yesterday, the superstar also revealed that he will be launching an app, HOOTE.

    The actor revealed in a statement that his daughter, “Saundarya Vishgan, has taken the lead in making a very useful app for people called ‘Hootee’ through her independent efforts and is going to present it to the world from India. “

    According to the actor, the people of the world can now express their thoughts, desires and thoughts using their voice through this app, just as they do in writing in any language of their choice.

    The actor will launch the first of its kind app in his voice on Monday.

    On 24 October, the actor also reacted to winning the award, talking to the media outside his home and saying, “I am very happy that I won the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. I never expected that I would get the award. I am sad that KB sir (K Balachander) is not alive when I received this award.”

    The actor made his acting debut in 1975 with K Balachander’s Apoorva Raagangal.

    The award ceremony will be held in Delhi tomorrow.

    The last person to receive the award was Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan in 2018. Before him, actors like Vinod Khanna, Manoj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor were also honored with this award for their contribution to Indian cinema.

    Rajinikanth will soon be seen in multiple languages ​​in filmmaker Shiva’s Diwali release, Annaatthe, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh and Nayanthara in lead roles.
