As Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan bring back the co-starring duo of Rakesh Trivedi and Vimmi Saluja aka Bunty Aur Babli, both the actors gave a glimpse of the journey of the two characters in the upcoming sequel.
It was Mukherjee and Abhishek Bachchan who dazzled audiences with their performances as the titular pair in the 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli directed by Shaad Ali.
The film turned out to be a blockbuster and people immediately liked the affable con-star duo.
Bachchan has been replaced by Khan along with Mukherjee in the sequel, directed by Varun V Sharma.
Talking about her character, Mukherjee said that the sequel will see Babli as the “Fashion Queen of Fursatganj”.
“Vimmy is bored just being a housewife in a small town. She knows she’s talented, she’s Ozzy Bubbly, a smart woman who shrugs off unbelievable opposition! Though she’s happy in her marriage, she wants more She craves adventure and being the center of attention. She was always in fashion and hence, she decided to pursue it,” the 43-year-old actor said in a statement.
“Her fashion choices are loud, colorful and happy because that is her personality and I must say she likes the fact that people in Fursatganj look up to her. People of this village are not in touch with fashion and Babli becomes fashion She is the queen of Fursatganj,” she said.
Khan, who is new to the franchise, said that his character will be seen as a family man in the sequel.
“He’s settled. He’s loved, his struggles are real. He was a legend and now he’s nobody. He yearns to know and that’s what frustrates him with how his life is shaping up. He feels important.” Wants to do it,” Khan said.
The 51-year-old actor said that his character craves the adrenaline rush that he felt dragging unbelievable opposition across India.
“Not a day goes by without Rakesh remembering the adventures he had with Bunty the great thug. Though he keeps his identity a secret and enjoys his marriage with Vimi, he remembers the action, The opposition misses out on strategizing what has become the talk of the nation. By suppressing who it really is and wants to be, it affects its health,” he said.
Khan said that working in Bunty Aur Babli 2 was a challenge as he had to gain weight for the role of Rakesh and then quickly lose it for another project.
Khan said, “I had to gain several kilos due to my packed shooting schedule and then lose it quickly. Now, when I look back, I am glad that I went through the process because Rakesh aka Rakesh aka OG Bunty looks believable in the film,” Khan said.
The family entertainer will also see actors Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari as new con-couple Bunty Aur Babli.
The makers will unveil the trailer of Bunty Aur Babli 2 on Monday, October 25.
The film is scheduled to release worldwide on November 19.
