AR Rahman’s talent is giving India global recognition, the composer shared recently as his soundtrack for the Kriti Sanon-starrer Mimi has been presented for the 64th edition of the Grammy Awards. The singer and composer has already won several awards including two Grammys, two Academy Awards, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe, in addition to the innumerable Indian awards he has won.
The 54-year-old record producer took to his Twitter handle to celebrate the news with his fans, writing, “I’m so excited to share that my soundtrack for Visual Media “MIMI” was presented for the 64th Grammy® Awards. Done. Your idea. Here’s a link. Thanks!!(sic)”
Mimi, directed by Laxman Utekar, starring Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi, revolves around the story of a single mother from a small town in India and received a very positive response from the audience. Sanon reacted to the news of Rahman’s soundtrack being selected for a Grammy and wrote, “Wow!!! Congratulations sir!!(sic)”.
