Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Aanand L Rai on Friday announced their third collaboration ‘Gorkha’, a film based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo. The makers shared a poster in which the actor is seen furious and is also seen holding a khukri. The poster is doing the rounds on social media after a former Gorkha officer told that the poster used in Khukri is not correct.

He wrote, “Dear @akshaykumar ji, as a former Gorkha officer, thank you for making this film. However, the details matter. Please fix the khukri. The sharp edge is on the other side. It’s not a sword. Khukri strikes the inside of the blade. Referee photo of Khukri et. Thank you.

The 54-year-old actor, who will play the legendary war hero Major General Ian Cardozo, thanked the former army personnel and wrote, “Dear Major Jolly, thank you so much for pointing this out. We will try our best to focus while filming. Keep it up. I am very proud and honored to make Gorkha. Any suggestion to bring it closest to reality would be most appreciated.

On October 15, Akshay and the filmmaker revealed a poster of their upcoming war drama flick based on the life of the legendary officer (5th Gorkha Rifles) of the Gorkha Regiment of the Indian Army.

National Award winning filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan will direct the film along with Rai through his banner Color Yellow Productions.

“Sometimes you come across so many inspiring stories that you want to make them. #Gorkha – On the life of the great war hero, Major General Ian Cardozo is one such film. To play an icon and present this special film -Directed by Sanjay Chauhan,” Kumar wrote on Twitter.

Rai, who has worked with Kumar in his directorial “Atrangi Re” and “Raksha Bandhan”, says he is honored to bring the war hero’s story on screen.

‘Gorkha’ will be presented by Kumar and Color Yellow Productions in association with Cape of Good Films.
