South star Samantha Ruth Prabhu has signed her next film after taking a month’s break from work. The yet untitled film is a bilingual project and is to be made in Telugu and Tamil. The makers took to social media on Dussehra to announce the film. The film will be directed by debutant Shantaruban Gnanasekaran and produced by SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures.

The makers took to the social media handle and unveiled a poster featuring Samantha in it. Samantha looks sad, yet beautiful in the poster. There is no official confirmation about the other cast of the film yet.

Taking to Twitter, Dream Warrior Pictures shared a picture of the actor and wrote, “We are happy to announce that @Samanthaprabhu2 is on board for our next film! Directed by @shantharuban87”.

Samantha will soon start shooting for this film, as the makers are making necessary arrangements to visit the sets of the film. SR Prabhu tweeted, “Happy to have Samantaprabhu 2 for our next bilingual film!!

The actor was last seen in The Family Man 2, which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. After the release of The Family Man 2, she revealed that she would take a month off from work.

Earlier in an interview with PTI, Samantha said that she has never chosen roles based on her perceived image as a star. Amazon Prime Video’s The Family Man, a predominantly Hindi web series directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, was another attempt to do something it hadn’t done before, she said.

“I don’t think any decision of mine has been taken on the basis of my star image. I have never made such calls. I don’t even know what my star image really is. I am just an actor looking to excel wants. That I can do. It’s a lot of fun,” Akkineni told PTI.

Meanwhile, Samantha is awaiting the release of director Gunasekhar’s mythological drama Shakuntalam and Vignesh Shivan’s Kathu Vakula co-starring Rendu Kadhal, Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.
