Haryana police have booked actress Munmun Dutta for allegedly making racist comments and words against people of the scheduled caste in a video.
Even before the case was recorded, the actress had “apologized to each and every person”, which she had stated was unintentional due to the incorrect use of the word.
Munmun Dutta claimed that she used the wrong word “due to the language barrier” and was misinformed about its meaning. An FIR was filed against Dutta in the Hansi town of Haryana over the complaint by Rajat Kalsan, coordinator of the Dalit National Alliance for Human Rights.
Hansi Police have filed a FIR against Dutta under various provisions of the Listed Tribal and Caste Act (Atrocity Prevention).
The author has alleged that Dutta made derogatory comments against people of the included castes. Police said Kalsan had delivered a written complaint and a CD containing Dutta’s alleged video to Hansi Police Superintendent on May 11. Acting on the complaint, Hansi Police Superintendent Nikita Gehlot ordered that an FIR be filed against him.
