Elon Musk Tweeted ‘Hunter Biden Laptop Story’ Censorship Incredibly Inappropriate!

Hunter Biden Laptop Story: Elon Musk, the billionaire who is close to acquiring Twitter, has weighed in on the platform’s earlier suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.

The suppression of the New York Post’s Hunter Biden story was “clearly highly inappropriate,” according to new Twitter owner Elon Musk, who tweeted Tuesday.

Conservatives on Twitter seized on Musk’s statement, alleging that Twitter’s actions were not only “wrong,” but also “blatant electoral intervention.”

Elon Musk responded to a tweet from Saagar Enjeti, a web show host at The Hill, about Twitter, censorship, President Joe Biden’s son Hunter, and Elon himself, just one day after it was announced Musk would buy Twitter for $44 billion.

On Tuesday, Breaking Points co-host Saagar Enjeti shared news about Twitter’s Legal, Policy, and Trust Lead Vijaya Gadde crying in a meeting regarding Musk’s $44 billion purchase of the social media giant.

“Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s top censorship champion who notoriously gaslighted the world on Joe Rogan’s show and blocked the Hunter Biden laptop story, is very furious about the @elonmusk takeover,” Enjeti tweeted.

The emails uncovered by the Hunter Biden laptop report described how President Biden’s son allegedly utilized his influence on key leaders in prospective offshore business transactions. The emails were taken from a laptop that was allegedly Hunter’s.

Hunter Biden Laptop Story

Initial allegations of Hunter Biden’s laptop were labeled “Russian disinformation” by intelligence analysts and others, prompting a media backlash against the New York Post claim.

The item was banned on Twitter and Facebook, with Twitter citing the content as problematic since it was “obtained through hacking” and “contains sensitive information.”

The laptop and emails were recently validated by both the Washington Post and The New York Times, giving the tale new life. Many people are criticizing censorship measures and the free speech rules of social media firms, particularly Twitter, as a result of the story’s continuous legitimization.

Musk has previously claimed that his desire to purchase Twitter originates from his criticism of the company’s free speech policies. The billionaire has been outspoken in his criticism of Twitter’s alleged shortcomings in terms of free speech.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has proposed a number of reforms, including making Twitter’s algorithm open-source and easing off on permanent user bans and content deletions.

When it comes to removing tweets and permanently banning individuals, Musk says he wants to be more careful and lenient. This could also imply that Twitter’s handling of tweets becomes more open.

Many Twitter users wished for Musk to lift the ban on former President Donald Trump, but the billionaire has yet to confirm or deny such plans.

Trump has stated that he has no plans to return to Twitter, instead preferring to use his own social media network.

Hunter Biden Laptop Story

An unnamed person dropped off a laptop computer at a Delaware repair shop in 2019 and never picked it up, resulting in the Hunter Biden laptop scandal. The New York Post revealed it three weeks before the 2020 presidential election as an “October surprise” three weeks before the election.

The laptop was of unknown origin and contained emails obtained by Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, as well as other Hunter Biden-related information, some of which were eventually proven legitimate.

The laptop’s discovery sparked conjecture about whether it backed the Biden-Ukraine conspiracy theory, which claimed that then-Vice President Joe Biden acted corruptly in Ukraine to shield his son from a corruption investigation by Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.

The New York Post published a piece on October 14, 2020, about an alleged meeting between then-Vice President Joe Biden and Burisma advisor Vadym Pozharskyi. The post was based on an email from Pozharskyi to Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, who sits on the board of Burisma, in April 2015, in which he thanked Hunter Biden for asking him to see his father in Washington, D.C.

The email, according to the Post, proved Joe Biden’s assertion that he had “never spoken to [his] son about his international business transactions” was untruthful, and also claimed to have proof in support of the Biden–Ukraine conspiracy hypothesis regarding the reasons for Viktor Shokin’s firing.

The Biden team said that Joe Biden had never met Pozharskyi and that if they had, it would have been a quick interaction. At the meal where they allegedly met, witnesses stated Biden walked by briefly to meet an old acquaintance.

The email was discovered in a cache of data taken from the external hard drive of a laptop computer that looked to belong to Hunter Biden, according to the Washington Post.

According to the Washington Post, the proprietor of the repair shop made a copy of the hard drive before it was taken by the FBI, and Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump’s personal attorney, later provided it to the Post.

The Washington Post published another email related to a business venture Hunter Biden pursued with a Chinese company in May 2017, in which his father was mentioned as a potential equity holder by a prospective business partner, despite Biden writing in another email that his father was emphatically not interested in the deal.

The laptop and other contents of the hard drive were heavily covered by the Post and other conservative media sources.

Due to the unknown chain of custody of the laptop and the provenance of its contents, and suspicions that it may have been part of a disinformation campaign by Russian intelligence or its proxies, most mainstream media outlets, analysts, and intelligence officials questioned the veracity of the Post’s reporting.

As a result, Twitter and Facebook both briefly disabled the sharing of the Post’s piece on their platforms.

As of 2022, no evidence had ever emerged “that the laptop’s leak was a Russian plane,” according to Vox.

The New York Times reported in March 2022 that it had verified several emails “from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop left in a Delaware repair shop by Mr. Biden.”

Thousands of the 129,000 emails reportedly from Biden’s laptop were authenticated by two security experts in March, according to The Washington Post, while the great majority of the laptop contents, including most of its emails, could not be authenticated. The Pozharskyi email, which was the basis of the New York Post’s original piece, was one of the emails that The Washington Post was able to confirm.
